I HAD THE BEST EVENING!!

Yeah I'm shouting. I had an horrible day at work. Absolutely dreadful. I had to get home right quick and figure out how I was getting towards the airport. Given the day I figured just drive. But the weather has been great, I haven't been on the bike in three weeks. What the hay, let's go in the bikes.

So how did my horrible day turn into a great evening?

3. Rode my bike...

2. To a great restaurant we have been meaning to try for years!

1. ...with great new friends!!

Meet Pam and her bestest hubby sidekick. This is the one and only Pam from Helmet or Heels fame, that gave me my 15 minutes of fame. :)

This restaurant is cool. We've been talking of going to the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant for over 10 years. It sits on the runway of Peachtree Dekalb Airport. You can watch the planes land/launch about 100 feet from your table. Closer if you are sitting on the patio.

The restaurant was great, but the company was better. We had a difficult time ordering because Pam and I kept talking and forgot to look at the menu. We went with the waitress' recommendation and three of us had the Salmon Soufflé while one lone standout ordered the Stuffed Trout. (And boy was it stuffed!!)

I don't think we paused for breathe throughout dinner, we had so much to talk about. And no, it didn't all revolve around motorbikes. Thank you both for taking time out from visiting with your family to come spend the evening with us. It totally made my day better.

  2. This is why commuting by bike is so nice. A great stress release after a bad day at work! I'm glad you were finally able to get in a ride.

    1. You and Pam...getting to commute on the bike. I'm so jealous!! It was glorious being on the bike. As the destination was definitely worth the wait if Pam and hubby were the reward.

  3. I would be a complete basket case if I went three weeks without riding.

    1. Three weeks for you would also mean that something was SERIOUSLY wrong! :) Sometimes it just isn't in the cards. Everything aligned last night. It was wonderful.

  6. Dear Beemer Girl (Lori):

I know what it's like having dinner with you and Mr. Oilburner... We kept forgetting to look at the menu too. Fortunately, I had the menu memorized. I look forward to having dinner with you guys again next year or sooner.

    Fondest regards,

    1. Yea, we kinda had the problem in NJ too, didn't we? :) We had the benefit of you being able to make recommendations or just order for us. I think that is why we all went for the recommendations.

Anytime! Anyplace! On that dinner! It doesn't have to wait for you to be on two wheels again, but we want to be there for the inauguration if we can.

  9. It’s amazing how a material object can be leveled almost equal to our loved ones, friends in particular. I think the thing is it provides us the liberation we sometimes need - the kind which we appreciate only when we are alone. It is exciting to have total control over something. And the experience was enhanced even more by the motor sound in the background. You seemed to really enjoy the night as a whole. :D
