Brown Baggin' It

Do you ever feel a little naughty walking out of the package store with your little plain brown paper bag wrapped bottle of happiness?

I unwrapped my little package of goodness today. Have you ordered yours?

If you haven't yet, now is the time to contact Jack Riepe over at Twisted Roads.

(Package stores are liquor stores for states that still don't have complete separation of church and state, with the laws still regulating who can sell liquor, and when. You can purchase beer and wine in the supermarket, but all hard liquor has to be acquired from a package store. Hey, still better than Utah where you can only purchase near-beer, or "three-two beer", in the supermarket. Otherwise everything has to go through state run liquor stores.)

    1. I assume you will want it read by the author? I must warn you that I have heard it induces bouts of swooning and weak knees when read by the author. ;)

  2. Lori:

thank you for reminding me. I just sent Jack an email, hoping that he has PayPal. Easier for me

we don't have package stores here. All liquor sold in BC is through the BC Liquor Control Board (Liquor Store).

    1. Ahhh...so your liquor sales are regulated too. Guess they don't want any crazy Canucks running around...

Yeah. Go get your copy... ;)

  3. I don't think you felt naught because of the plain brown wrapper. I think you felt naughty because of the author, lol.

  4. Beemergirl....dont hide it, flaunt it! You'll be known as one of the cognoscenti, one of the "inner circle", seen as "in the know", for you read Riepe's stuff!

There's even a secret handshake, but Jack will have to show you that....

    1. Dom, this is all your doing. My comment on your blog started this snowball rolling and has now landed me in a shot glass. But it sure has been a fun ride. :) Thank you, my friend.

  5. Dear Beemer Girl (Lori):

I am flattered to death that you rate my work so highly. This book is so different from my usual tripe. But I am afraid that my reputation precedes me when it comes to the more graphic descriptions of my rather dismal life. Okay, some parts of it weren't so dismal. Please let me know what you thought of the book. Many expect me to tout my own stuff, but others would certainly be interested in your assessment.

    Fondest regards,
    Jack/reep

    1. Dear Jack, I'm trying. I really am. But I've been working 11 hour days lately. My own bikes Re giving me the cold shoulder for not taking them out to play. Their conversations are getting rather rude and snarly. They are telling me to ignore the book and take them for a ride. Then they will really show me things. ;)
