First time I ever say Spanish Moss was at Jekyll Island on the coast. I love watching it it swaying in the breeze.

They spruced up Mr. Peanut since I saw it last year. Nicely painted. People would be very surprised at where it's located...completely away from any museum or landmark of any sort! It stands guard outside a convenience store and RV park...right behind the store. :)

-LoriBeemerGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239761274177026636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-58013669123633836342011-03-19T04:38:39.801-04:002011-03-19T04:38:39.801-04:00Hi Brady!

Your insights will make it quite a good read.

You are correct. It is difficult to just go for the day. Unfortunately I had this in my bonnett for the winter and had to go. Currently there isn't an easy way for use to stay overnight.

The only camping allowed at this park is back country camping. A nice, easy 4 mile hike into the canyon and down the river a ways. Or stay at a cabin at Florence Marina. :)

-LoriBeemerGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239761274177026636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-21094648540276530982011-03-19T04:33:10.277-04:002011-03-19T04:33:10.277-04:00Hi Jack!

The first still has to be a Dragon/Cherohala/home loop from last year that saw me with a migraine and a will to kill anyone that crossed my path. Mr. Oilburner was hit with both barrels. I'm so thankful that this day was peaceful and calm and perfectly enjoyable!

Reading your tales of 600 mile balls out runs from your youth are still a complete mystery to me. I don't think my butt could handle a Iron Butt...ever!

Providence Canyon is amazing. We drove there last year and hiked the canyon. You are actually allowed to hike up into all of the tributaries. I was planning to hike this year if we had left the house earlier.

As Brady says, it is difficult to go there and not stay awhile. I just couldn't do it in one day.

Safety and live to ride another day are my motto! I am deeply honored to be lumped into your safety circle. :)

-Steel CupcakeBeemerGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239761274177026636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-69661443267198780632011-03-19T04:18:34.114-04:002011-03-19T04:18:34.114-04:00Hi Nikos,

You get off the island every once in a while that would allow you to put a little more mileage on. :)

Looking forward to see what shenanigans your little GS is going to get up to before you seize it.

Will you be renting a steed when you get here in July? Might get more miles under your butts....err belts this year! :)

-LoriBeemerGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15239761274177026636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-87953824063488531062011-03-19T04:11:18.451-04:002011-03-19T04:11:18.451-04:00Hi Bobskoot!

(Honda cb relay) Should be good. Got to say, I'd probably have to camp in a beautiful spot like that, don't know I could get there, sit for lunch, then turn right around. Look too damned nice.

Brady
Behind Bars - Motorcycles and Life
http://www.behindbarsmotorcycle.com/Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03424120592303852860noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-8189610413623849942011-03-16T16:27:20.253-04:002011-03-16T16:27:20.253-04:00Dear Steel Cupcake:

Somehow, I think my joints are going to give me a bad time this year.

The pictures of the canyon were great. I had no idea points of natural interest like this were so close to you. And I like the shot of the "big peanut" too.

I too plan my getaways to avoid stops on a hill, with a turn to the left, into traffic. And a right turn avoiding conflict is always my first choice. You are the first person, other than myself, to admit this though.

Great post today.

Fondest regards,
Jack • reep • ToadJack Riepehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07531160098262862027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364903049017493756.post-44113773074224783902011-03-16T02:41:23.215-04:002011-03-16T02:41:23.215-04:00I wish to experience the thrill of a long bike rid...I wish to experience the thrill of a long bike ride, from the city all the way to the province.
